Who we are and how we work

Chitwan Safari is a planning and booking website focused on one place: Chitwan National Park and the villages around it. We help you choose the right safari, book it with clear prices and inclusions, and arrive knowing what to expect.

What Chitwan Safari is

We are an independent website for travelers who want to plan and book a safari in Chitwan. Everything here is about this one destination: its activities, wildlife, seasons and the practical details of getting there and staying.

Our travel guide is written to answer real questions honestly, including the ones that don’t help us sell, such as when not to go or why a tiger sighting is never guaranteed. Our tours are built from the activities and lengths of stay that work best for most visitors.

How we run our safaris

Licensed local guides.Activities inside the national park are led by licensed nature guides, as park rules require; walks go with two guides.
Clear inclusions. Each tour page lists what is and isn’t included, so you know about park fees, meals and transport before you book.
Transparent prices. The current price is shown on every tour page. We don’t add charges after you book, except a change in government park fees or taxes, which we tell you about straight away.
Capped group sizes.Shared activities are capped (see each tour’s group size), and jeeps carry roughly 6–8 guests.
Private options.Families, couples and photographers can book private safaris with their own vehicle and guide.
Responsible wildlife watching. We keep a respectful distance, keep noise down and follow park rules.

We also try to give honest advice on timing. If your dates fall in the monsoon or the hottest weeks, we will say so and explain what that means for activities, so you can decide with the full picture. The best time to visit guide covers this month by month.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t bait, feed or call wildlife to create sightings.
  • We don’t guarantee sightings of any animal. Rhinos are seen often; tigers rarely.
  • We don’t ask guides or drivers to chase animals or go off permitted tracks.
  • We don’t add surprise charges after you book; the only exception is a change in government park fees or taxes, which we tell you about promptly.

On elephant activities, we give honest information about welfare and current availability on our elephant safari page, so you can make your own choice.
