Cancelling or changing your Chitwan tour
This cancellation policy explains the refunds and date changes that apply to tours booked through chitwansafari.com, unless your tour page or confirmation states otherwise.
Refunds when you cancel
Refunds depend on how much notice you give before your tour’s start date. Notice is counted from when we receive your cancellation by email or through your account.
| When you cancel | Refund |
|---|---|
| 7 days or more before the start | Full refund, minus payment-processing fees |
| 3–6 days before the start | 50% refund of the tour price |
| Less than 72 hours before the start | No refund |
| No-show on the day | No refund |
Payment-processing fees are charged by our payment provider when you pay and are usually not returned to us, so we can’t refund them. Refunds go back to the original payment method, and the time it takes to appear depends on your bank.
When a different policy applies
Some tours have their own cancellation terms, for example where flights, peak-season lodges or special permits are booked in advance and cannot be refunded to us. If a tour’s own page or your confirmation states a different policy, that policy applies to that booking instead of the tiers above.
Changing your dates
You can change your tour dates once, free of charge, if you ask at least 3 days before the original start date and the new dates are available. If the new dates have a different price, you pay or are refunded the difference.
Further changes, or changes requested less than 3 days before the start, are treated as a cancellation under the tiers above, though we will always try to help where we can.
If we cancel your tour
We may have to cancel because of safety concerns, a park closure, flooding, strikes, severe weather or other events beyond our control. If that happens, we will contact you as soon as possible and you can choose a new date or a full refund of everything you paid us, including processing fees.
We are not responsible for costs you arranged separately, such as international flights, visas or hotels booked elsewhere. Travel insurance with cancellation cover helps protect those costs.
Activities changed during your tour
Once a tour has started, activities may be shortened or swapped for safety, park rules, river levels or weather. Where an activity cannot run at all, we offer a suitable alternative or a refund of its unused cost where possible. If you choose to leave early or skip an activity, no refund is due for unused parts. Not seeing particular wildlife is not grounds for a refund, as explained in our terms and conditions.
