Our booking terms in plain English

These terms and conditions apply when you book a tour through chitwansafari.com. Please read them before you book; by confirming a booking you agree to them.

Who we are

“Chitwan Safari”, “we” and “us” mean the business operating chitwansafari.com. “You” means the person making the booking and everyone traveling on it. You confirm that you are at least 18 and have authority to accept these terms for your whole group.

Bookings and confirmation

A booking request is not a confirmed booking. Your booking is confirmed when we send a written confirmation by email and payment has been received as shown at checkout. Please check your confirmation carefully and tell us straight away about any errors in names, dates or details.

Prices and what is included

Prices and inclusions are as listed on each tour page at the time you book and repeated in your confirmation. Anything not listed as included, such as drinks, tips, personal expenses or optional activities, is not covered. Once your booking is confirmed, we will not raise the price, except where you change the booking or where government charges such as park fees or taxes change before travel and we tell you promptly.

Payment

Payment is made online through our payment provider. The amount due and the timing, full payment or a deposit with a balance, are shown at checkout and in your confirmation. If a balance is not paid by its due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you under the cancellation policy.

Changes and cancellations by you

You can ask to change your dates or details by email or through your account. We will try to help, subject to availability; any cost difference is payable or refundable. Cancellations and date changes are handled under our cancellation policy, unless a tour’s own page or confirmation states different terms.

Changes and cancellations by us

We may need to make minor changes, such as switching a lodge of similar standard or re-ordering activities. If we have to make a significant change or cancel your tour, for example because of safety, a park closure or events beyond our control, we will tell you as soon as possible and you can choose a new date or a full refund of what you paid us.

Wildlife, weather and park rules

Wildlife is wild. We do not guarantee sightings of any animal, and no refund is due because an animal was not seen. Activities may be shortened, changed or cancelled for safety, park rules, river levels or weather; where an activity cannot run at all, we will offer a suitable alternative or refund its unused cost where possible.

Your responsibilities as a traveler

  • Make sure you are fit and well enough for the activities you book, and tell us about any medical conditions or mobility needs that may affect them.
  • Follow the instructions of your guides and drivers at all times, and follow park rules.
  • Hold a valid passport, visa and any documents needed for Nepal.
  • Take out travel insurance covering medical care, evacuation and cancellation. We strongly recommend it.
  • Respect local people, customs, wildlife and property.

A guide may stop a traveler from taking part in an activity if their behavior puts themselves, others or wildlife at risk; no refund is due in that case.

Our liability

We take reasonable care in arranging your tour and choosing the guides, lodges and transport providers who deliver it. We are not responsible for losses caused by your own actions, by events beyond our reasonable control, or by services you arrange separately.

Where we are responsible, our liability is limited to the price you paid us for the affected tour, except where the law does not allow it to be limited, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Complaints

If something goes wrong during your trip, tell your guide or contact us straight away so we can try to put it right on the spot. If it is not resolved, email [email protected] within 30 days of your tour ending and we will reply as quickly as we can.

Governing law and personal data

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Chitwan Safari’s operating business is registered, which is stated on your booking confirmation, without removing any rights you have under the consumer laws of your home country. How we use your data is explained in our privacy policy. Common questions are answered on our FAQ page.
