Chitwan Canoe Ride and Jungle Walk
A quiet half day: a dugout canoe down the Rapti at first light, then a guided walk back through forest and grassland.
Spend time with an elephant and its mahout: walk alongside on the forest path, help prepare its food and learn how the pair work together. No riding.
This experience is about understanding elephants rather than riding them. You meet an elephant and its mahout in the morning and learn how they communicate and how the day is organized around the animal's needs.
You walk beside the elephant to its grazing area, help prepare the rice-and-grass parcels it is fed, and watch it at the river. The mahout sets the pace and decides what is safe at every point.
Elephant activities depend on current park and welfare rules. We confirm exactly what is running for your date before you pay; there is no elephant riding in this program.
Activities may be reordered on the day for weather, river levels or park rules.
