Chitwan Canoe Ride and Jungle Walk
A quiet half day: a dugout canoe down the Rapti at first light, then a guided walk back through forest and grassland.
Eight hours deep inside the national park, far beyond the half-day loop, with the gharial breeding center at Kasara and a packed lunch on the way.
The full-day jeep safari reaches parts of the park that half-day drives never see. You head west through sal forest, open grassland and around lakes, stopping wherever the guide spots movement.
Midday brings you to Kasara, the park headquarters, where the gharial breeding center shows the long-snouted river crocodile up close. The return drive takes a different route, often the best time for rhinos and deer as the heat eases.
It is a long, bumpy day, but it gives the best odds of the shier animals.
Activities may be reordered on the day for weather, river levels or park rules.
