Chitwan Canoe Ride and Jungle Walk
A quiet half day: a dugout canoe down the Rapti at first light, then a guided walk back through forest and grassland.
A long day on foot with two experienced guides, following pugmarks, scrapes and alarm calls through tiger country. Sightings are rare; the tracking is the experience.
This is a full day in the forest for fit walkers who want to understand how tigers use the park. Your guides read fresh pugmarks, scratch marks on trees, scrapes and the alarm calls of deer and langurs, and follow the freshest signs.
You walk quietly for much of the day, pausing at waterholes and machans where tigers are known to pass. Lunch is packed and eaten in the forest.
Please come with the right expectations: most days end with tracks, not a tiger. Days with a sighting are memorable precisely because they are uncommon.
Activities may be reordered on the day for weather, river levels or park rules.
